Asscock is down, so I assume it'll spawn a "replacement", run and admin'ed by yet more utter cock snorkelers. Mind you, I'll register under a pseudonym and flame the knob if he sets up as a WW2 oracle on there!

Fluffy pulled the plug without warning to retailers, sites or moderators on Dec 6th. Gone for good - Aitch tried to do a deal on the database but it came to nothing. One bod has set up another forum today but Aitch is attempting to get a son of ASCUK forum going with the help of some former ASCUK mods. And it seems to be on a more friendly 'the past is the past' basis.

Flipping heck, there are soooo many airsoft forums out there now!

As has happened before, Fluffy will attempt to get people to pay for its running so he can reinstate it. Some will and he'll 'reluctantly' re-open it.

It happen with UKAN and it'll happen with this (again) I imagine.

Their collective egoes are far too big to let it die, unfortunately.

The old UKAN was far superior to asscock, much friendlier and far less heavy handed modding. I think it's all a ploy, to try to rally all of the suck ups back after asscocks' traffic fell off so dramatically. A bit like Gadges' constant "I quit" posts to PBI, made to get people to say "please don't go, we love you really".

I don't think so - the games up. No way will any retailers or sites support them now, let alone punters in mid transaction. So many people have been banned. Fluffy doesn't play nor has he any interest in airsoft and anyway there is no money in it - and I don't think ego is sufficient motive. Not now, way too late. Given their traffic of late I'm surprised they held on so long.

The old UKAN forums were a good place to post. ASCUK was full of cuntish moderators on a power trip.

Fluffy and Beaker were two of the biggest cunts in Airsoft - end of story. That ASCUK is dead and gone is only a good thing IMHO.

I loved his candour though: Im offering cash, not time or effort and whilst I make a living from airsoft am happy to spend money on it and sign a 3 month deal so a new sponser can be found. The diffense between a profesional company and a site run by mates is I have to love you all weather you love me or not, a hobby based site loves those it gets on with and can afford to be more selective.

Beaker has been phoning all the major retailers to try and raise some cash to pay for a new forum. Hell, he even phoned the magazine, whereupon he got told politely to fuck off. Gotta admit, had some brass balls for trying that though

As Jay has already seen I've posted some stuff up on the new forum http://www.ukairsoftzone.co.uk/forums/index.php?/forum/8-wwii/
I've had a PM convo with Aitch and the 'new' team seem to be sincere in their desire to start as they mean to go on so I'll see how it goes. Oh, and just to spite Gadge I'm the WWII section moderator. (he has registered there but not posted yet).

The difference between his 'modding' and mine will be he will use it as a stage to prove his immense knowledge and promote Gadge where as will just be moderating other's postings and promoting WWII airsoft in general and CiA in particular.

Heh, that's one on the arguments I had with Gadge a while ago when he complained he had been 'booted off' as a mod from here. I said he hadn't been booted off he just didn't volunteer. And when he was a mod he didn't do any moderating at all (reading posts, moving posts, editing posts, assisting with user difficulties). A section moderator isn't a status symbol - its volunteering to assist in the smooth running of a forum. Oh well,

I'm not surprised at the idiot to be honest, nor at the fact he sees fit to announce it on here as well. I almost bit when I read his pompous post. I will eventually, it's inevitable, especially if he carries on being a snidey little bastard!

Heh, Gadge's latest will make you bite Pete. Regarding lumping WW2 themes in with all pre-91 themes:

"Actuallu I dont think its that stupid, see my column in next months AI. I thnk all 'themed airsoft' is pretyt complimentary."

Apart from the illiteracy of that sentence, it's awfully egotistic.
